Can the 1866 CO2 shoot BBs and pellets?

The .177 versions come with a smoothbore barrel that fires steel BBs or pellets at up to 600 FPS. The .22 versions come with a rifled barrel and fire .22 pellets only, at up to 450 FPS. Never fire steel BBs through a rifled barrel.

How many shots does the 1866 CO2 hold?

It holds 10 reusable metal cartridges, each loaded with one BB or pellet. Working the lever ejects the spent cartridge and chambers the next, and 10 cartridges come with the rifle.

How do I install the CO2 cartridges?

With the safety on SAFE, press the latch under the buttstock to lift the cover and loosen the piercing screw with the Allen key stored inside. Put a drop of silicone oil on each end of two 12-gram CO2 cylinders, insert them with the necks facing outward, then tighten the screw until they pierce, without overtightening.

How long does a CO2 cartridge last in the 1866 CO2?

It depends on how fast you shoot and the temperature. Long strings cool the CO2 and lower velocity, so let the rifle warm up between strings. When point of impact drops or the shots get noticeably quieter, swap in fresh cylinders, since shooting on nearly empty CO2 is the most common cause of jams.

Can you leave CO2 in the 1866 CO2?

No. Barra's manual says to remove the BBs or pellets from the cartridges and the CO2 from the rifle when you're not using it. Fire off the remaining gas with an empty chamber in a safe direction before removing the cylinders.

How does the safety work on the 1866 CO2?

There are two safeties. Slide the switch on top, where the stock meets the receiver, down to FIRE (red dot), and squeeze the lever against the grip to release the grip safety. The lever only cycles with the safety on FIRE.

What is the difference between the 1866 CO2 and the 1866 CO2 Tactical?

Both use the same internal system, lever action and 10-shot ejecting cartridges. The classic 1866 CO2 has a faux wood polymer stock, while the Tactical is all black with a polymer stock and an M-LOK compatible handguard. Optional rifled .177 and .22 barrel kits fit both.

What comes with the 1866 CO2 Tactical bundle?

The .177 bundle adds a 15-count box of 12-gram CO2 cartridges and two 250-count tins of Bowie Hollow Tip .177 pellets. The .22 bundle adds the same CO2 and four 125-count tins of Bain Domed .22 pellets.

What warranty comes with it?

It's covered by Barra's 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, which covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Register your airgun with the Warranty Registration Form, and contact help@barraairguns.com if you have an issue.
