What it protects
This design patent protects the ornamental appearance of the Barra Airguns lever-action air rifle, the look of the 1866 platform. The official drawings show the rifle from every side, with the lever both closed and open.
A design patent covers how a product looks rather than how it works, so it guards the 1866’s distinctive profile against copies.
Applies to every pump-powered 1866 rifle, both single-pump (Junior, Rosie) and multi-pump.

What it protects
This utility patent covers the way the 400e loads each round. A flexible bucking sits in a passage next to the loading chamber, and a spring coiled around the barrel presses against it. Fastening the barrel to the housing compresses that spring, so the bucking is held under spring pressure as ammunition moves from the chamber into the barrel.
A utility patent protects how a product works. It covers the loading mechanism itself, not just its appearance.
Applies to all 400e air rifles, in both metal and polymer builds, including refurbished models.
